OVERVIEW
Lombok's Jungle Waterfall
Tiu Kelep is one of Lombok's most dramatic waterfalls, tucked into the jungle at the base of Mount Rinjani. The trail there takes you past Sendang Gile first, through river crossings and rainforest, before the falls finally come into view. Most visitors spend half a day here, and some take the natural water slide back down for good measure.

HOW TO GET THERE
How to Get to Tiu Kelep
From Mataram
~ 2 hrs by car
From Kuta Lombok
2.5~3 hrs by car
From Bangsal Harbour
~1.5 hrs by car
A private driver or rented scooter is the most pratical way to reach Senaru, since public transport is limited and unreliable. Given the distance, many travelers choose to stay one night in Senaru rather than visiting as long day trip, especially if combining the waterfalls with a Mount Rinjani trek.
ON THE WAY
Sendang Gile Waterfall
The trail to Tiu Kelep passes directly by Sendang Gile, a powerful two tiered waterfall reached after about 10 to 15 minutes of walking from the entrance. Most visitors stop here first before continuing roughly another 30 minutes along the river path to reach Tiu Kelep. Both waterfalls are covered by the same entrance ticket, so it is easy to visit them together on one trip.

AFTER THE HIKE
The Longkang Water Slide
On the way back from Tiu Kelep, look for the irrigation channel known locally as the longkang. It carries fast moving mountain water beneath the bridge connecting the two waterfalls, and operators on site will set you up with a rubber tube, life jacket, and helmet for a ride back through it, including a stretch through a dark tunnel. It is optional, costs a small additional fee, and is a fun way to finish the hike if you do not mind getting fully soaked.
