How to Get Around Gili Meno
Like the other Gili Islands, no cars or motorbikes are allowed on Gili Meno. Getting around is simple, the whole island can be crossed on foot in well under an hour.
Walkng
The most common way to get around, the entire island is small enough to explore on foot
Bicycle
Easy to rent through most guesthouses, a relaxed way to circle the island
Electric Scooter
Available for hire on the island, a quicker option if you want to cover more ground
Cidomo (Horse Cart)
The traditional way to move luggage from the boat landing to your accommodation
Because the island is so small and so quiet, most visitors find they barely need transport at all. Walking from one side to the other rarely takes more than 20 to 30 minutes.
Things to Do on Gili Meno
There is no long list here on purpose. Gili Meno's appeal is in how little there is to do, and how good that feels. Still, the island has a handful of things worth carving out time for.
Snorkeling
Gili Meno has some of the calmest, clearest water in the Gilis, making it one of the easiest places to snorkel straight from the beach. Several reefs are just a short swim offshore, and it's common to spot colorful fish and even turtles without needing to book a boat trip. Bring your own mask or rent one nearby, then simply walk into the water and explore at your own pace.

Snorkel Out to the Sculpture
Just offshore sits a submerged art installation, figures resting on the seabed that have slowly become part of the reef itself. It is one of the more unique snorkeling spots in the Gilis and easily reached by swimming straight out from the beach.

Visit the Turtle Sanctuary
A small sanctuary on the island works to protect and rehabilitate sea turtles. It's a quick, low-key stop if you want a closer look at the turtles that share the water around Gili Meno. While it isn't a large attraction, visiting helps support local conservation efforts and makes for an easy addition to a walk or bike ride around the island.
Walk or Cycle the Island
Gili Meno is small enough to circle on foot in under two hours, or by bicycle in even less time. Either way, it is the easiest way to see the whole island, the beaches, the village, and the quiet inland paths in between.

The Inland Salt Lake
Gili Meno's small inland lake sits at the center of the island and is home to local birdlife. Swimming is not recommended due to the salinity, but the path around it makes for a quiet detour if you want a break from the beach.
Sunset on the West Coast
The west side of the island faces open water with uninterrupted sunset views, with Bali's Mount Agung visible on a clear evening. Find a quiet spot on the sand and let the evening take care of itself.

Eating on Gili Meno
Dining on Gili Meno is simple by design. There is no restaurant scene to speak of compared to Gili Trawangan or Gili Air, just a small number of beachside warungs and cafes, most attached to the island’s guesthouses. What it lacks in variety it makes up for in good, honest food and a much quieter setting to enjoy it in.
