Mawi Beach is a remote, undeveloped bay on Lombok’s south coast with strong surf and rugged coastal scenery. The shoreline is mostly quiet, with only a few simple warungs and shaded huts available. Conditions here can change quickly depending on the tide and swell, making it better suited for confident surfers rather than casual swimmers.
Things to Know
Mawi Beach is reached by scooter or car and sits west of Selong Belanak along a rugged dirt road. The final stretch can be bumpy with loose gravel and uneven patches, so take your time if you are not experienced riding off-road. Parking is right by the beach and usually uncrowded except on days with big swells.
